Six of our MotoNovians had a night to remember last night as they attended the Women in Credit Awards final in the bright lights of London, recognising, celebrating and championing women in the finance industry. Aiming to connect, empower and support achievements of the incredible work these women are doing, we’re extremely proud to announce that that six of our MotoNovians were finalists!

Judged by eighteen senior women business leaders from across the financial industry, we’re excited to announce that Debbie McKay, Head of Motor Major Accounts and Claire Fussey, SME & Commercial Sales Manager are winners!

Managing Director, Karl Werner, reflects;

“Claire and Debbie, and their fellow candidates, are essential role models for all women in our business, and the surrounding industry, in underlining our commitment to enhancing diversity and inclusion across MotoNovo.”

Here’s how our six finalists got there...

Victoria Loosmore, Head of Product & Marketing Governance – Team Player of the Year

“MotoNovo has enabled me to be 100% my authentic self each and every day. I’m so grateful to have been really backed by this business, from personalised coaching, mentoring and sponsorship to the opportunity to attend courses that have been specific to my individual needs and style. I couldn’t ask for more.”

Claire Fussey, SME & Sales Commercial Manager – Team Leader of the Year

“I’m passionate about inclusion and feel that we should all have the opportunity to bring our best selves to whatever we do, without any restrictions, discriminations, prejudice or judgement. There’s nothing more uplifting or encouraging than truly feeling able to be your authentic self.”

Amy Dicomidis, Senior Operations Manager – Transformation of the Year

“I’ve always felt I have a voice and more importantly, that people listen. MotoNovo have worked really hard to show we’re advocates of diversity and inclusion. I have always felt supported from all aspects of MotoNovo and I’ve had lots of exciting opportunities to encourage and discuss this.”

Courtney Putland, Dealer Oversights & Recoveries Manager – Innovator of the Year

“Motonovo has provided me with so many learning and development opportunities over my 7 years and it’s great to see we’re creating platforms and spaces to facilitate important conversations. My advice is push yourself out of your comfort zone, your opinions and ideas are important.”

Laura Griffin, Senior Account Manager – Outstanding Returner

“Having my daughter helped me realise my purpose of collaborating with brilliant women to inspire future generations and achieve gender equality.  I’m grateful to work for a company that supports and enables me to be my true authentic self and find more fulfilment, in and out of work.”

Debbie McKay, Head of Motor Major Accounts – Colleague of the Year

“For me, diversity and inclusion is about caring deeply and authentically about your people, making everyone feel they are truly valued & listened too – smart teams will do amazing things but diverse teams will do impossible things. I would encourage all future female leaders to be authentic, really curious and when needed brave.”

Each woman has not only made an impact at MotoNovo, but in the industry as a whole. The awards provide an important platform to encourage diversity and inclusion across the industry and we’re committed to continue making a positive change in these areas.

As Karl concludes;

“These women are not alone; there are many examples across our business of people from all backgrounds making a positive impact and I aim to keep calling them out, catching people doing the right thing.”
